The Craig Police Department serves the City of Craig, Colorado, with a population of approximately 9,000. Located in Moffat County, approximate population 13,000, it has low humidity, bright sunshine and a rather large daily temperature range. Because of its location in the extreme northwestern corner of Colorado, it is considered the shopping hub for the area. The area is well known for its year around outdoor recreational activities.
The Craig Police Department consists of 21 sworn and 5 civilian personnel. The department staff is comprised of the Chief of Police, one Captain, three Patrol Sergeants, one Detective Sergeant, one full-time Investigator, one Investigator/Patrol Officer, two School Resource Officers, one Drug Task Force Officer, ten Patrol Officers, two Community Service Officers, one Investigative Technician and two Records Technicians.
The Craig Police Department is a Colorado Association of Chiefs of Police accredited law enforcement agency. Meeting these stringent standards is only one of the ways in which the Craig Police Department demonstrates a commitment to excellence and professionalism in the delivery of law enforcement services.
